The Impact Programme will work with partners to build fund management capacity. It will do this by supporting the development of sustainable and scalable models that identify early-stage Fund Managers and provide capacity building for them at scale. It will also support the development of new models that reduce costs for Fund Managers.
Piloting and scaling the Capria Fund Manager Accelerator
Partner: Capria Ventures LLC
The Impact Programme is supporting Capria Ventures LLC to pilot and scale the Capria Accelerator for early-stage fund managers. The Capria Accelerator aims to accelerate at least 10 early stage impact funds in emerging markets over the next 10 years, attracting investment of at least $500 million investor capital.
Scope of work
The Capria Accelerator will work with impact funds which aim to provide essential services and employment (e.g. healthcare, education, housing, financial access, food/agri-businesses and other ‘basic service’ areas) over the next three years with a major emphasis on Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. Selected early stage fund managers are supported by the Capria Accelerator with a tailored ‘intensive’ four week programme followed by a complete and multi-year package of mentoring, access to tools, processes and templates, ongoing fundraising and investment evaluation support.
The Capria Accelerator aims to be operational and self-sustaining, supporting between four and twelve early-stage impact fund managers a year to develop and attract investment. It also aims to support between five and 15 early stage impact fund management teams based in Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia.
